Professional packing can cover your whole home or just the rooms and items you would rather leave to a crew. Start by identifying the help you want: kitchen cartons, wardrobes, fragile decor, furniture protection or a complete pack. Frank & Sons can assess that scope alongside your Southwest Florida move.
Choose full packing or a partial pack
For a full pack, show the estimator every room, closet, garage and storage area. For a partial pack, identify the exact cupboards or items included. Separate belongings you are taking yourself before the packers arrive, especially medication, jewelry, essential documents, chargers and overnight supplies. Clear instructions prevent an important item being boxed unintentionally.
Ask how materials and labor are priced
Our 2026 national price guide includes a sourced packing benchmark for general household planning. Your packing quote should identify labor, materials, specialty protection, the preparation expected from you and whether unpacking is included. A small kitchen pack and a large estate are not the same service and should not share an assumed fixed price.
Have fragile and unusual pieces assessed
Point out glass shelves, mirrors, stone tops, antiques and artwork. Share photographs, dimensions and any existing damage or handling instructions. The packing method should fit the object’s surface, structure and condition. Valuable or unstable pieces may need a conservator or specialist; a blanket claim that every item needs the same archival material is not useful.
See our art-packing guide for questions to discuss before transport. Do not clean, repair or tape directly to a valuable object simply to prepare it for a move.
Prepare rooms and labels
- Decide what will move, stay, be donated or go into storage.
- Use destination-room names consistently on boxes and the floor plan.
- Keep packed cartons dry and within a manageable weight.
- Identify prohibited items with the mover before packing.
- Record where hardware and small parts belong.
Confirm what happens after delivery
Ask whether the service includes selected unpacking, furniture reassembly and removal of used packing materials. Installation and wall mounting need their own arrangements. For a condo, coordinate the building’s access window with the amount of packing and delivery work requested. For storage, confirm how cartons and items will be identified for retrieval.
