Move less before you book

Sort belongings into keep, sell, donate and dispose groups. Confirm actual collection arrangements before promising items to another destination. Measure large furniture against the new rooms; moving a piece that will not fit creates extra handling and possibly storage. Tell the estimator when your inventory changes so the proposal stays accurate.

Choose packing help deliberately

Pack ordinary items yourself if you have time and suitable materials, and request help for the fragile or difficult pieces. Ask what a partial pack would include. Check the whole cost before accepting

Ask about billable travel, mileage, stairs, long carries, packing materials and storage. Confirm cancellation terms and how added work is authorized. If your dates are flexible, ask about available alternatives without assuming a guaranteed seasonal discount. Choose the level of help you can realistically manage; an unsafe lift or an unplanned extra rental day can erase the apparent savings.
